BOWLING GREEN MAN CHARGED FOR ATTEMPTED ROBBERY IN LINCOLN COUNTY

On September 7, 2017, Lincoln County deputies responded to Castle’s Store/Gas Station on Highway KK, in Lincoln County, after receiving a call of an attempted robbery.

According to the employee, a white male entered the store around 8:15 p.m., with an open blade knife in hand and demanded the register money. The demand was made several times before the robber stated, “never mind” and threw a five dollar bill on the counter to prepay gasoline.

The male pumped his gas and left the scene.

Surveillance video quickly identified the male as 31-year-old Justin Peak, of Bowling Green, Missouri. On September 8, detectives, with assistance of the Bowling Green Police Department, arrested Peak in his home along the first block of East Champ Clark Street.

Peak told investigators he brandished a knife at the store clerk and then requested an attorney.

Peak is charged with felony Attempted Robbery and Armed Criminal Action. Peak is currently housed in the Lincoln County Jail on a $50,000 cash only bond. Other conditions of bond may apply.
