CHILD PORNOGRAPHY STING LEADS TO THE ARREST OF A LINCOLN COUNTY MAN

In early March 2017, Detectives with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, St. Charles County Internet Crimes against Children and the Homeland Security Investigations Cybercrimes Child Exploitation Unit began an online conversation with 38-year-old Joshua Wood, of Elsberry.

Wood, using the online name of, “BabyBoyz” wanted to chat with men about how to best raise newborn baby boys. During the course of the online conversation, Wood told detectives he was going to rape an unknown boy with the boy’s father watching sometime before the end of the year. Wood detailed the rape and how he lusted for a newborn boy.

Detectives learned, Wood’s was posting his conversations from a residence along the 100 block of Long Blvd, in Elsberry. Detectives obtained a search warrant of the residence and seized Wood’s cellular phone. An analysis of the cellular phone indicated several child pornography videos.

Wood later told detectives he was sexually attracted to children and admitted to trading between 300 and 400 child pornography photographs online.

Wood was taken into custody and charged with Felony Child Pornography possessing more than 20 pictures and one count of Promoting Child Pornography in the Frist Degree. Wood is currently housed in the Lincoln County Jail under a $250,000 cash only bond. Other conditions of bond may apply.
