Michael Goins

Detectives with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Multi-County Narcotics and Violent Crime Enforcement Unit received a community tip that 47-year-old Michael Goins, of Troy, was selling narcotics out of his residence along the first block of Hillview Lane, in Troy.

Detectives observed a vehicle enter Goins’ driveway for a few minutes and left traveling toward Davis Road. Within a few minutes, detectives made contact with the driver who told investigators he purchased narcotics from Goins.

Investigators applied and received a search warrant for Goins residence. Upon execution of the warrant, Goins attempted to flee law enforcement through the home’s basement but was taken into custody. Detectives recovered a synthetic opioid called U-47700, known to some as “pink” or “pinky.” In addition, investigators recovered methamphetamine.

Goins has an extensive criminal history for both possession and distribution of controlled substances and is currently on parole for drug charges.

Goins is charged with felony Delivery of a Controlled Substance – Minor to Purchase or Transport and two counts of felony Possession of Controlled Substance. He is currently housed in the Lincoln County Jail under a $50,000 cash only bond. Other conditions of bond may apply.
