CONCEAL CARRY PERMIT LEGAL UPDATES

Since the passage of SB745 and the veto override of SB656, Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW) Permits age requirements have changed. Effective October 10, 2014, residents 19 years and older who have completed and received a certificate of Firearms Safety Training Course, can apply for a CCW permit.

Residents currently serving in the United States Military who have gone through a State Firearms Safety Training Course can apply for a CCW at the age of 18.

New Permits
Conceal and Carry Permits are processed in the Records Office Monday through Thursdays from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.. Closed on Friday.

When applying for a Conceal and Carry Permit, you will need the following items:

1.) Certificate of Firearms Safety Training Course
2.) Drivers License
3.) $100.00 permit fee (Money Order, Cash or Debit/Credit Cards) NO PERSONAL CHECKS ACCEPTED

The fee is non-refundable by law.

It will take up to 45 days to process your permit application. Upon completion, you will
be notified to pick up your permit.

Renewing Permits
You will need to bring the following:

1.) $50.00 renewal Fee (Money Order, Cash or Debit/Credit Cards) NO PERSONAL CHECKS ACCEPTED
2.) Current State Issued CCW Permit (either your driver’s license or separate State ID)

Applications are accepted Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Record’s Window within the Sheriff’s Office lobby.

Late Fees are assessed at a rate of $10.00 per month for a maximum of six (6) months past expiration date.

Endorsements not renewed within 6 months are Expired and NOT Renewable.

The fee is non-refundable by law.
