Jacob Minks

During the early morning hours of May 14, a Lincoln County citizen informed deputies there was an unconscious man slumped over the wheel of his vehicle sitting on Humphrey Road, near Highway MM, in Moscow Mills.

When deputies arrived, they observed a pickup truck parked in the middle of the road at a 45 degree angle with 20-year-old, Jacob Minks, of Florissant, unconscious and slumped over his steering wheel. It took deputies several minutes to wake Minks up, who was unable to balance himself and had trouble speaking.

The deputies observed a loaded AR-15 rifle, a 12-guage Mossberg shotgun in the front seat of his truck along with drug paraphernalia, scale, a clear Ziploc bag and marijuana. In addition, a glass pipe with white residue commonly used to smoke methamphetamine was taken into evidence and sent for testing.

Minks told deputies his drug of choice is methamphetamine and was binge smoking for the past 30-hours and passed out.

Minks was involved in a previous domestic altercation in Elsberry resulting in him firing a pistol into the air during a confrontation with family members a few days earlier

Minks was eventually arrested and charged with DWI-Drug Intoxication, Unlawful Use of Drug Paraphernalia and possession of up to 35 grams of marijuana. Minks is currently housed in the Lincoln County Jail under a $50,000.00 cash only bond. Other conditions of bond may apply.
