In the afternoon of January 26, 2015, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to the first block of Fox Lane, in Foley, for a domestic disturbance. Deputies learned 41-year old, Mary Elizabeth Britt, of Foley, arrived at the home to return property she had previously borrowed. While standing outside near the rear door, Britt displayed a 9mm Ruger semi-automatic handgun and attempted to fire it at the 67-year male homeowner from close range.
