HEROIN OVERDOSE LEADS TO FELONY ASSAULT CHARGE

Joshua Moore

On Saturday, January 20, 2018, Lincoln County paramedics responded to a residence along Woodmark Manor, in Lincoln County, for a 23-year-old male with labored breathing. Paramedics administered Narcan and the male was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital, in Lake St Louis, for treatment of heroin overdose.

Detectives with the Lincoln County Narcotics Unit responded to the hospital to investigate the heroin overdose. During the course of the investigation, detectives learned the 23-year-old male victim had several conversations with 23-year-old Joshua Moore, of Florissant, who directed the victim to a Florissant location for heroin.

It was also determined, Moore was an active heroin drug dealer and had several business transactions with the victim. Detectives used the victim’s cellular phone to request more heroin, which Moore agreed. Moore directed detectives to a residence in Florissant.

With the assistance of the St. Louis County Drug Task Force, investigators contacted Moore in the driveway and took him in custody. Detectives seized heroin off of Moore and later told detectives he sold heroin to the victim on the morning of January 20, 2018.

Moore is currently charged with Felony Assault and housed in the Lincoln County Jail under a $25,000 cash only bond. Other conditions of bond may apply.

St. Louis County Drug Task Force detectives will present a Distribution of a Controlled Substance case on Moore at a later date.
