On Wednesday, April 10, deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of Ridge Road, in Lincoln County, after receiving a phone call a white male entered a shed and began stealing items.
When deputies arrived, they observed 28-year-old Nicholas Schell, of Lincoln County, siphoning gasoline from a vehicle on the property. During a search of Schell’s vehicle, deputies found a clear plastic bag of methamphetamine and copper wire. Schell said he was not the property owner and was taking into custody.
During his interview at the Sheriff’s Office, Schell told deputies he was in the process of stealing copper wire from within the outbuilding because it was “old.” Schell also admitted to stealing a Hitachi 10-inch compound saw from within the building.
Schell told deputies she used methamphetamine frequently and has to steal to support both his habit and to buy gasoline for his truck, since he lives in it.
Schell is charged with Second Degree Burglary, Stealing and Possession of a Controlled Substance and he is currently housed in the Lincoln County Jail. Honorable Judge James Beck set bond at $25,000 cash only. Other conditions of bond may apply.
