On Tuesday, detectives with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office began investigating an alleged child abuse incident that took place on January 17, 2019, in a residential home along the 100 block of Brook Hill Lane, in Lincoln County.

According to the male victim under the age of 13-years-old, 39-year-old Christopher Kennison, of Lincoln County, became angry during a play fight and punched him in the face. The victim stated Kennison then picked him up and pinned him to the ground, poking him in the face and eyes.  When the victim attempted to push Kennison off his body, he bit the victim’s arm.

The victim had extensive bruising on the face and ear.

Detectives interviewed Kennison who said the victim became irate and punched him in the face.  Kennison said he had to physically restrain the victim and admitted to biting him.  Kennison could not explain the bruising to the face and ear.

One witnesses said they observed Kennison restrain the child and poke him in the victim’s face.  A second child witness told investigators they observed Kennison punch the victim in the face and bite him, which caused him to scream.

Kennison is charged with Felony Abuse or Neglect of a Child and is currently housed in the Lincoln County Jail under a $20,000 cash or 10% surety bond.  Kennison is to have no contact with the victim or the child witness.  Other conditions of bond may apply.
