Investigators with the Multi County Narcotics and Violent Crimes Unit (MCNVCEU) received information that 39-year-old Matthew Cavin, of Lincoln County, was selling large amounts of methamphetamine out of his residence along the 100 block of Bobs Lane.

Investigators received a search warrant for the residence and executed it on Thursday.  When detectives entered the residence, they observed Cavin immediately grabbed a bag of suspected methamphetamine from a nightstand and attempted to conceal it between the headboard of his bed and the wall.

Cavin was taken into custody.  A subsequent search of Cavin’s room recovered a plastic bag containing 46 grams of methamphetamine, scales, drug paraphernalia, over $8,500 in US currency and drug packing materials.  During his interview, Cavin took ownership of the methamphetamine.

Cavin is currently on parole for Burglary 2nd and two counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

Lincoln County Prosecutors charged Cavin with Second Degree Drug Trafficking and is currently housed in the Lincoln County Jail.  Honorable Judge Greg Allsberry set bond at $30,000 cash only.  Other conditions of bond may apply.
