LINCOLN COUNTY MAN CHARGED WITH VEHICLE TAMPERING

On February 25, detectives began investigating a stolen truck taken from the lot of Geeding Construction during the early morning hours.  On February 27, investigators learned the truck was located at a residence along the 100 block of Surrey Drive, in Lincoln County.

Detectives responded to the location and spoke with the homeowner.  According to the homeowner, his son-in-law 32-year-old Justin Ray Robinson, of Troy, drove the truck to the residence and stayed the night.  The homeowner was unsure where the truck was located.

Investigators found a Geeding Construction inspection sheet laying in the front yard of the home but did not locate the truck.  The homeowner gave consent to search his property.  During that search, investigators found a Geeding window sticker, bearing the same VIN number as the stolen truck, in a trash barrel.

Detectives located Robinson in the residence and took him into custody.  Robinson refused to cooperate with law enforcement on the location of the truck.  Additional charges are expected in this case.

Robinson is charged with First Degree Vehicle Tampering and is currently housed in the Lincoln County Jail.  The Honorable Judge Gregory Allsberry set bond at $50,000 cash only.  Other conditions of bond may apply.
