In September, detectives began investigating a home burglary along the 2200 block of Highway E, in Lincoln County.  During the course of the investigation, detectives learned 29-year-old Timothy Golden, of Elsberry, was involved in the crime.

In October, detectives located Golden and interviewed him.  During the interview, Golden admitted to burglarizing the residence.  According to Golden, when he exited the residence he was confronted by the homeowner and fled the residence in a black Chevy Blazer.

When Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to pull Golden over he fled at a high rate of speed.  As a result of his speed, Golden said he ran off Mackville Road, through a cornfield and collided into a tree.  Golden abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

The vehicle was found later by deputies with the stolen items within.  Golden also admitted to burglarizing Driven Auto Sales in September.

Golden is charged with felony Second Degree Burglary, felony Resisting with Arrest for a Felony and misdemeanor Stealing.  Golden is currently housed in the Lincoln County Jail under a $10,000 cash only bond.  Other conditions of bond may apply.
