On Friday, February 28, 2020, detectives with the Multi County Narcotics and Violent Crimes Enforcement Unit (MCNVCEU) began searching for a wanted Lincoln County fugitive. Detectives responded to a known residence the fugitive frequented along the 1200 block of Ridge Road, in Lincoln County.
Detectives spoke with a resident of the home who told investigators he did not know the fugitive but thought maybe the other members within the home might. Detectives walked to a back bedroom where they found 32-year-old Steven Arias and 23-year-old Kayla Lipham, both of Lincoln County, sleeping.
Investigators had prior knowledge Arias was wanted for a Probation and Parole Violation. Detectives announced themselves and observed methamphetamine, electronic scale and drug paraphernalia sitting on a nightstand next to the bed. While escorting Arias out of the bedroom he struck the detective in the face with his elbow and resisted arrest.
Detectives applied and received a search warrant for the home where they located 51 grams of methamphetamine, four electronic scales, $1,255.00 in US Currency, four packs of unused Suboxone, 13 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Detectives arrested Lipham who told them, “Nothing is mine, you can’t put anything on me.”
Prosecutors charged Arias with Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Fourth Degree Assault of a Special Victim and Willfully Resisting Arrest.
