LINCOLN COUNTY SEX OFFENDER ARREST FOR FAILURE TO REGISTER, LIVING NEAR A SCHOOL

In November, 47-year-old William Roderique, of Moscow Mills, notified the Sheriff’s Office he was transferring his sex offender registration requirements to Lincoln County from Jackson County.  During his initial registration, he informed the Sheriff’s Office he moved to a home off the 1000 block of Kathy Avenue, in Moscow Mills.

During a check of the new residence, it was determined the home was within 1,000 feet of a public school and Roderique was told he could not live there.  Roderique said he would live in a tent in Moscow Mills until he could find a home.

On December 12, 2018, the Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Service, conducted a compliance check of Roderique to learn he was living at the residence along the 1000 block of Kathy Avenue.  The homeowner confirmed Roderique’s residence status but Roderique was not located.

Roderique failed to register his status by the close of business on December 13 and was arrested the following day.  Roderique stated he sleeps under bridge in the county and did not own a tent.

Roderique was convicted of Sexual Assault of a 14-year-old girl in May 1995 and convicted for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender in December 2016.

Roderique is charged with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender (Second Offense) and Sex Offender Present within 500 feet of a School Building.  Roderique is currently housed in the Lincoln County Jail under a $20,000 cash only bond.  Other conditions of bond may apply.
