LINCOLN COUNTY WOMAN CHARGED WITH METH POSSESSION

The Multi-County Narcotics and Violent Crimes Enforcement Unit received information 26-year-old Danielle Bertels, of Lincoln County, was evading a felony warrant and was hiding at a residence along the 400 block of Buchanan Street, in Troy.

Investigators made contact with the homeowner who told investigators Bertels was “hiding out” from law enforcement in her basement. Narcotic investigators made contact with Bertels and took her in custody.  A subsequent search of Bertels living area found a baggie containing five-grams of methamphetamine.

Bertels told investigators, “It’s my meth, but you cannot charge me with it because you have to send it off (to a state lab), so I’ll be fine.

Prosecutors charged Bertels with Possession of a Controlled Substance and he is currently housed in the Lincoln County Jail.  Honorable Judge Greg Allsberry set her warrant with a no bond.  Other conditions of bond may apply.
