The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 100 block of Blue Bunting Cir, in Moscow Mills, for a report of man pointing a handgun at a neighbor.
The victim told deputies he took a walk around his neighborhood and as he walked by a home along Blue Bunting Circle two black colored dogs charged at him barking and growling. The victim told deputies he took a small can of mace from his pocket and yelled at the dogs to back off.
The dog owner then appeared and pointed a handgun at the victim and told him to “keep walking.” The dog owner kept his gun pointed at him until he was completely down the street.
Deputies identified the dog owner as 52 year old Timothy Charles Smith, of Moscow Mills.
When deputies made contact with Smith he told him he had a BB gun with him in case he needed to shoot his dogs from attacking someone and denied pointing at the victim. Not matching the description provided by the victim, the deputy requested to see all of Smith’s handguns and was able to identify the handgun used in the incident.
Smith was arrested and subsequently charged with felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon and was released from the Lincoln County Jail on a $7,500 bond.
Sheriff Cottle took immediate action and revoked Smith’s Conceal Carry Permit.
