In June 2018, detectives began investigating a child sex offense after receiving a forensic interview of a female victim under the age of 12-years-old from Akron Children’s Hospital CARE in Canton, OH.
According to the victim, she was visiting a family member in June along the 100 block of Maple Shade Drive, in Old Monroe. The victim told forensic investigators that 44-year-old Jason R. Vaughan, of Overland, forced her into sexual intercourse. The victim also stated Vaughan committed other unwanted sexual contact during her visit from Ohio.
Vaughan does not have a permanent residence in Missouri making it difficult for detectives to find him. On November 15, Chesterfield Police Department took Vaughan into custody.
Vaughan denied having sexual contact with the victim.
Vaughan is charged with First Degree Statutory Rape and First Degree Sodomy and is currently housed in the Lincoln County Jail under a $100,000 cash only bond. Other conditions of bond may apply.
