PAIR OF LINCOLN COUNTY SEX OFFENDERS ARREST FOR FAILURE TO REGISTER

This week, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office took 42-year-old Kevin Hoxworth, of Troy, and 35-year-old Daniel Cole, of Troy, into custody.  Hoxworth, a Tier III Sex Offender, is required by Missouri Statute to register his status with the Sheriff’s Office every 90 days, which he failed to do so in June 2019.

Hoxworth was convicted in January 1996 of First Degree Statutory Rape of a 13-year-old female.

In June, Sex Offender Detectives learned Daniel Cole failed to register a new home address with the Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office applied for an arrest warrant; however, in lieu of a warrant, the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued a court summons. Cole failed to make his court appearance.  Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued a Failure to Appear Warrant for Cole’s Failure to Register as a Sex Offender charge.

In December 2007, Cole was found guilty of Second Degree Statutory Rape of a 16-year-old girl.

Prosecutors charged Hoxworth with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.  Honorable Judge Gregory Allsberry set bond at $5,000 cash only.  On December 9, 2019, Hoxworth pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to three-years in the Department of Corrections.

Prosecutors charged Cole with Failure to Appear on a Failure to Register as a Sex Offender charge and he is currently housed in the Lincoln County Jail.  Honorable Judge Milan Berry set bond at $10,000 cash only.  Other conditions of bond may apply.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office continues to maintain one of the best sex offender compliance rates in the State of Missouri.
