    Lincoln County was founded on December 14, 1818 and named for Benjamin Lincoln, a Major General during the American Revolutionary War. Lincoln County is one of 114 counties in the state of Missouri. Lincoln County has approximately 630 square miles of land and 10 square miles of water. We are bordered by Pike County to the north, St. Charles County to the southeast, Warren County to the southwest, Montgomery County to the west and our eastern border is the Mississippi River.
