School Bus Transporting 30 Children Crashes

school-busOn Friday, August 26, 2011, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Missouri State Highway Patrol with a motor vehicle accident involving a school bus from the Lincoln County R-3 School district.

At approximately 4pm, Sheriff’s Deputies received a call advising a school bus had driven off the side of Highway V just east of Highway 61. The bus was transporting approximately thirty middle school aged children.

Upon arriving on scene, deputies along with state troopers assisted children off the bus through the emergency exits.

In all, six children were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries. Luckily there were no serious injuries in the accident.

The cause of the accident was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
