On Monday, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 100 block of Killdeer Circle for a burglary in progress. Before deputies arrived the burglars left the scene but noticed the backdoor was forcibly opened. Law enforcement made contact with the victim and ask her to meet them at her residence.
The victim told deputies the burglars stole her television, Xbox gaming console, video games, a safe containing cash and $200 in cash from within her home.
Neighbors told deputies they observed two African American males walk behind the residence with a white female pacing back and forth on the front driveway. The neighbors said after a few minutes they observed all three running to a parked blue Pontiac G6 with one male carrying a television.
Deputies put out the information and a short time later Troy Police Department pulled over the suspects along North Lincoln Drive. Deputies identified the occupants as 26-year-old Montrel Burton, of Mexico, 23-year-old Justin Shelton, of Fulton, and 32-year-old Heather Early, of Mexico. The occupants were taken into custody.
The stolen property was returned to the homeowner. The suspects refused to speak with law enforcement.
Burton, Shelton and Early are currently charged with one count of Felony Stealing and all are housed in the Lincoln County Jail under a $100,000 cash only bond each. Other conditions of bond may apply.
The investigation is ongoing and investigators expect additional charges in this case.
