Narcotic Investigators with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a community complaint of possible methamphetamine manufacturing along the 500 block of McQuie Dr., in Foly.
When detectives arrived along with the Foley Police Department, they observed meth manufacturing materials discarded in the backyard and could see other supplies through a back door, which were consistent with the manufacturing of meth. Detectives made contact with the home residents, 43-year old Ernest Rader, 51-year old Gregory Roth, and 37-year old Ronald Shanks. Rader gave Detectives permission to look through the home.
While in the residence, Radar pointed out multiple precursors used to make meth and cooperated with detectives. During this time, Detectives observed Shanks remove a cigarette from his pack, which caused a baggie of white powdery substance to fall out. Shanks attempted to hide it in a couch cushion and was quickly taken into custody. The substance later tested positive for methamphetamine.
Radar, Roth and Shanks later told detectives they are meth users.
