TRAIL CAMERA CAPTURES PICTURE OF LINCOLN COUNTY BURGLAR

In September 2018, detectives with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office began investigating a residential burglary off the 100 block of Meier Road, in Lincoln County.  The victim told investigators some small tools and other property were missing.  He also said a trail camera took a photograph of the suspect.

Detectives quickly identified the suspect as 38-year-old Zachary Johnson, of Winfield.  Johnson eluded law enforcement until Sunday, February 24, 2019, when he was taken into custody and transported to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

Johnson told detectives he entered the home and took a few items and said he thought the homeowner was deceased.

Johnson is charged with Second Degree Burglary and Stealing. Johnson is currently housed in the Lincoln County Jail and the Honorable Judge Gregory Allsberry set bond at $10,000 cash only.  Other conditions of bond may apply.
