The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis was called early this morning to investigate after deputies discovered a suspicious death of a woman around 10:30PM late last night along the first block of Goodwood Trail, in unincorporated Lincoln County.
This afternoon, the woman was identified as 38-year old Harmony M. Culbreath, of Elsberry. Currently, approximately 20 detectives from law enforcement agencies from the Great St. Louis Area have followed up on more than 38 leads into the suspicious death of Culbreath. Early this evening, Culbreath’s preliminary autopsy revealed a gunshot wound; however, it is not ruled as the cause of death at this time. Major Case is awaiting official autopsy results.
Tonight, it is still undetermined if the death is a homicide and the investigation continues. Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to call the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 636-528-8546 and ask for Major Case.

The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis has concluded their investigation into the suspicious death of Harmony Culbreath, of Elsberry, MO.
Twenty-two investigators were assigned to the case and investigated approximately 75 leads during the four-day investigation. Evidence discovered during the investigation, included an audio recording made by the victim, indicated the gun-shot wound is believed to be self-inflicted.
A final determination will be made pending the complete autopsy report, and reviewed by the Lincoln County Coroner. Any further investigation into the matter will be conducted by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
