LINCOLN COUNTY MAN CHARGED WITH BURGLARY AND STEALING

On May 10, 2020, deputies responded to the first block of Country Hill Estates, in Lincoln County, for a suspicious U-Haul trailer backed up to a shed. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with 18-year-old Carlos Carey, of St. Charles, who said he was transporting a motorcycle to a nearby location for a friend.

Deputies and detectives made contact with the shed owner who told them his Honda motorcycle was missing from the shed. Detectives took Carey into custody and provided the location of the stolen motorcycle.

Detectives questioned Carey who stated a friend asked him to move the motorcycle to the new location. Carey said once law enforcement arrived on scene, he knew they were there for the stolen motorcycle.

Prosecutors charged Carey with Second Degree Burglary and Felony Stealing. Carey is currently housed in the Lincoln County Jail and the Honorable Judge Gregory Allsberry set bond at $7,500 cash only bond.  Other conditions of bond may apply.
