Domestic Dispute Leads To Assault With A Revolver

Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 100 block of Green Oak Lane, in Troy, reference a domestic disturbance involving a firearm.

According to investigators, intoxicated 52-year old Laura Tannehill forcefully placed a .22 Ruger revolver to the temple of her husband resulting in swelling and bruising of the area.  After removing the firearm from the victim’s temple, Tannehill leaned over and bit the victim on his nose causing it to bleed.

As the victim attempted to leave the residence, Tannehill struck him several times with the firearm on his back.  Once outside, Tannehill discharged the weapon in an unknown direction.  The victim was able to call 911 for assistance.

Deputies were able to retrieve the revolver and found seven live rounds and one spent casing in the cylinder.

Tannehill was arrested for felony First Degree Domestic Assault, Armed Criminal Action and Unlawful use of a Weapon.  She is currently being held at the Lincoln County Jail on a $100,000 cash only bond.
