Byron Tartt Wanted

Sheriff John Cottle is asked the Lincoln County community for help in locating absconded sex offender, 43-year-old Byron Heath Tartt, of Elsberry.

In September 1995, Tartt was convicted of Second Degree Statutory Sodomy of a 14-year-old female victim in Gasconade County.  Tartt is required to register as a sex offender with the Sheriff’s Office.

After failing to register on July 31, 2016, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Compliance Unit conducted a check of Tartt’s residence to learn he moved to an unknown location.  Tartt was last seen in the Elsberry area.

Tartt failed to register as a Sex Offender in January 2016.  The Sheriff’s Office currently has a warrant for his arrest.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Byron Heath Tartt is encouraged to call the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 636-528-6100 or Detective Flynn at 636-528-8546 Ex. 3247.
