Earlier this evening, Deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office were involved in an Officer
involved shooting.

On 4/29/2021 at 6:01 PM, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office was advised by St. Peters Police that a St. Peters Police Officer was shot on a traffic stop, and information was obtained that led the St. Peters PD to believe the suspect was a resident of southern Lincoln County. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the area of the suspect’s residence and saw the suspect in his vehicle. At 6:20 PM, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to stop the suspect, however the suspect failed to stop and led Deputies on a pursuit that ended in the 2600 block of Myers Road.
At 6:32 PM, the suspect stopped his car near 2639 Myers Rd. He exited his vehicle with a gun in hand and immediately opened fire at the pursuing Deputies, riddling one of the Sheriff’s Office’s marked units with bullets. Sheriff’s Office Deputies returned fire and the suspect was fatally wounded.
No Deputies were wounded during the incident. No other occupants were in the suspect vehicle.
The name of the suspect is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol took command of the crime scene and is handling the investigation.
The two Lincoln County Sheriff Deputies that were involved in the shooting will be placed on administrative leave pending that investigation.
