Release of property held by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office

To the Citizens of Lincoln County:

Please be advised that The Evidence Collection and Preservation Unit of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has, in its possession, property and/or evidence that you are the owner of, or that was removed from your residence or person prior to 2011. If you were involved in an incident in 2009 or 2010 wherein your items were seized by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and those items have not been disposed of and you have not claimed or otherwise already abandoned the items pursuant to RSMo. 542.301; please contact Becky Merkel at 636-528-8546 Ext. 3270 within the next ten (10) days to assert your right of claim.

Please consider this your notice to pick up said property at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, within ten (10) days of the date of this letter. If you fail to pick up said property, or make arrangements to do so, within that time period, the property will be disposed of by our office.

In order for you to be helped in the most efficient manner, please bring a government issued photo I.D. when picking up your property. If the owner of the property is now deceased, please contact The Evidence Collection and Preservation Unit and you will be given further instructions at that time on how to retrieve the property.

Evidence Preservation personnel DO NOT have information on case dispositions. If you have questions about a criminal case, please contact the Lincoln County Prosecutor’s Office and ask to speak with the Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in charge of the case.

Please call Becky Merkel if you have any questions concerning these matters.

Thank you.
