Justin Sadler

On September 20, 2016, detectives with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office began investigating a stolen 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier, from a residence along the 100 block of Plantation Drive, in Lincoln County.

The victim told detectives he observed his vehicle leaving his driveway around 7 a.m., by an unknown male.

Around 10 p.m. on September 21, the vehicle was spotted in Lake St Louis by officers who said they found 30-year-old Justin Lee Sadler, of Elsberry, sleeping in the car. During an inventory of the vehicle, officers found items that did not belong to Sadler or the vehicle owner, to include a compromised safe that belonged to Sadler’s ex-wife.

Based on the number of items recovered from the vehicle, the Sheriff’s Office believes there may be multiple stealing victims.

Sadler was eventually arrested and charged with felony First Degree Tampering with a Motor Vehicle. Sadler is currently housed in the Lincoln County Jail under a $20,000 cash only bond. Other conditions of bond may apply.

Stolen items recovered include:

Cellular phone cases

Air pumps

AM/FM Radio

Tool bags

Leather Jacket

Tool belts

Construction tools

Battery chargers

Car stereos and amplifiers

Portable DVD player

Edge Trimmers

Pressure Cooker

Boots and Shoes

Citizens with recently missing above items is encouraged to call the detective in charge at 636-528-8546 Ex. 3445.
